CalculatorZed (“we”, “our”, or “the platform”) is a free online calculator service built specifically for Zambians. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we do not do with it.

The short version: CalculatorZed does not collect, store, or transmit any of the numbers or personal details you type into our calculators. Every calculation happens entirely inside your web browser. Nothing is sent to our servers.

By using CalculatorZed, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.

We distinguish clearly between two types of data: calculator inputs (which we never collect) and standard web traffic data (which we may collect in aggregate).

What we do NOT collect:

• Your salary, income, or any financial figures you enter into calculators
• Your weight, height, age, or any health measurements
• Your loan amounts, interest rates, or investment figures
• Your name, ID number, or any personal identifier
• Your location beyond the country level (Zambia)
• Any data you type into any input field on this website

What we may collect (anonymously):

• Pages visited and calculator categories browsed (no inputs recorded)
• Approximate device type (mobile, desktop, tablet) and browser name
• General geographic region (e.g. “Lusaka Province”) from IP address — never precise location
• Referral source (e.g. whether you arrived via Google or a direct link)
• Session duration and pages per session

Every calculator on CalculatorZed runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. When you type a salary into the PAYE calculator, or a weight into the BMI calculator, that number never leaves your device.

Here is what actually happens technically:

• You open a calculator and enter values into the input fields
• Your browser’s JavaScript engine runs the calculation locally on your device
• The result is displayed on-screen directly from your device’s memory
• No network request is made; nothing is sent to CalculatorZed’s servers
• When you close the page or browser tab, all inputs are permanently deleted from memory

This architecture was a deliberate design choice. Zambians should be able to calculate their take-home pay, pension contributions, or blood sugar levels without those figures being stored anywhere on the internet.

CalculatorZed may use a small number of cookies and analytics tools to understand how the platform is used at an aggregate level. We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking, or personalisation.

Types of cookies we may use:

• Essential cookies — Required for the website to function (e.g. remembering that a modal is open). These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies — Anonymous, aggregated data about page visits and calculator usage. These help us decide which tools to improve or add. You can disable these in your browser settings.

Analytics tools we may use:

• Google Analytics (configured with IP anonymisation enabled)
• No additional third-party tracking or marketing pixels

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use any calculator on this platform.

CalculatorZed uses a small number of third-party services to deliver the website. These services may have access to standard web traffic data (e.g. your IP address), but they do not receive any of your calculator inputs.

• Web hosting / CDN provider — To serve the website files to your browser. Your IP address passes through their servers as part of standard web traffic.
• Google Fonts — To load the Plus Jakarta Sans and Space Grotesk typefaces used across the site. Google may log that a font request was made from your IP.
• Font Awesome CDN — To load icons. Standard CDN logging may apply.
• Google Analytics — Anonymised, aggregated page-view data only. See Section 04.

We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share any user data with third parties for commercial or marketing purposes. We never have and never will.

CalculatorZed is designed to be useful to everyone, including students. Our ECZ Grade Calculator, GPA Calculator, and study tools are frequently used by learners of all ages.

Because we do not collect any personal data from any user — regardless of age — CalculatorZed does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. There are no registration forms, no accounts, and no data submission mechanisms on this platform.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has somehow submitted personal information through this platform, please contact us at the details in Section 10. We will investigate promptly.

Because CalculatorZed does not collect or store personal data, most traditional data rights (right to access, right to erasure, etc.) do not directly apply — there is simply nothing stored to access or delete.

However, you still have the following rights with respect to CalculatorZed:

• Right to know — You have the right to know what data is collected. This policy tells you everything.
• Right to opt out of analytics — You can disable analytics cookies in your browser settings at any time without losing any calculator functionality.
• Right to ask questions — You can contact us at any time to ask about our data practices. We will respond within 14 days.
• Right to complain — If you believe we have mishandled your data, you may raise a concern with the relevant data protection authority in Zambia or your jurisdiction.

CalculatorZed is served over HTTPS, which means all communication between your browser and our web server is encrypted in transit. This protects you from third parties intercepting your browsing activity on the platform.

Because calculator inputs never leave your browser and are not stored anywhere, there is no database of personal financial or health data on CalculatorZed’s servers that could be breached or leaked.

We take reasonable technical steps to protect the integrity of the platform itself, including:

• HTTPS encryption on all pages
• Regular review of third-party scripts used on the platform
• No collection or storage of sensitive personal data on our servers

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the platform, new legal requirements, or improvements in how we explain our practices. When we make changes, we will update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.

We will not make changes that reduce your privacy protections without clearly communicating them. Our core commitment — that calculator inputs are never collected or transmitted — will not change.

Continued use of CalculatorZed after a policy update constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy. If you disagree with any changes, you should stop using the platform.

For significant changes, we may also place a visible notice on the homepage for a period of 30 days.
