Explore →Why we built CalculatorZed
The idea came from a WhatsApp group chat. A cousin in Kitwe was trying to work out her new salary, a friend in Lusaka was pricing a loan from two different banks, and another was budgeting for a trip to the farm in Central Province. Each of us was opening different apps, Googling different formulas, and none of it really matched the Zambian context.
So we started building. One calculator at a time, with Zambian tax bands, Zambian pension rules, Zambian fuel prices and Zambian mobile money fees baked in. No guessing whether the site was made for South Africa or the UK and trying to squeeze our numbers in.
Today, CalculatorZed hosts over 90 tools. Some are simple — like the age calculator we use for NRC applications. Some are complex — like the PAYE calculator that walks through every 2026 tax bracket. But they all do one job: give you a real number, fast, without asking you to sign up for anything.
What you'll find here
We've grouped the calculators into nine categories so you can find what you need without hunting:
- Tax & Salary — payslip breakdowns, PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, gratuity and withholding tax. Updated every time ZRA changes the bands.
- Finance — personal loans, mortgages, savings goals, compound interest and currency conversion.
- Business — profit margins, freelance day rates, Smart Invoice fees and working capital for small businesses.
- Farming — maize and tomato growing costs, fertilizer calculations, crop yield estimates and farm profit planning.
- Construction — how many cement bags, bricks, paint litres, roofing sheets or floor tiles your project actually needs.
- Health — BMI, calorie needs, water intake, ovulation and pregnancy due dates.
- Education — grade averages, school fees and student loan repayments.
- Mobile Money — MTN MoMo, Airtel Money and Zamtel Kwacha transfer fees at every bracket.
- Math & Tools — scientific calculator, algebra, ratios, age, dates and unit converters.
